Gas in cylinders

What if my gas bottle freezes?

In extremely low temperatures or in cases of extremely high gas consumption, gas bottles may freeze. This is a completely normal phenomenon.

Has your gas bottle frozen? Temporarily turn off the gas appliance that is connected to the gas bottle until the gas bottle warms up again. Then turn your appliance and the gas supply back on and your gas appliance will work normally again.

The boiling point of butane (or the point at which the liquid turns into gas) is approximately at freezing point. Therefore, butane is not usable in colder temperatures. In such cases, propane gas bottles are appropriate.
